Payroll status and funding process

Prev Next

Overview

Payroll status in Wrapbook helps production accountants and administrators track the progress of payroll processing across their projects, providing real-time visibility into where each payroll stands in the payment lifecycle.

Status types

Your project’s payroll will always have one of the following status:

  • Draft status shows when editing/approving/importing timesheets and calculating payroll

  • Calculate shows when balancing the payroll

  • Post shows when payroll is ready for funding

  • Funding shows when your company is in the process of providing funds to Wrapbook to pay workers. Once a payroll is funded, changes cannot be made to the timecards or batch. Always verify all information before completing the funding step.

Funding process

The exact process for funding payroll depends on your company's payroll funding method:

ACH

Companies using automatic bank debits (ACH) will have the funds automatically withdrawn from their connected bank account.

  • Payments to workers are initiated once receipt of funds is confirmed by Wrapbook

Wire transfers

Companies can send the payroll funds to Wrapbook via a wire transfer. When wiring payroll funds from your company’s bank to Wrapbook, be aware of the following:

  • Your company’s bank may charge a fee for the wire transfer

  • Wire transfers offer the fastest processing time for payroll funding in Wrapbook when quick turnaround is needed

  • You’ll be required to provide proof of the wire transfer to Wrapbook

  • Once Wrapbook confirms receipt of the funds, payments to workers will be initiated

To wire payroll funding:

  1. In the left-side navigation, click the dropdown. menu, and select All projects

  2. In the left-side navigation, click Company settings

  3. On the Company settings dashboard, click the View button next to Wrapbook bank transfer instructions

  4. Follow the instructions to wire the funds from your company’s bank account to Wrapbook

Drawdown accounts

Companies with a drawdown account will have the funds automatically pulled from their pre-funded account.

Net terms

  • Companies with net terms will have Wrapbook pay out the payroll first and then invoice the company, who must pay within their agreed payment terms

When running a payroll that will be funded under Net terms, be sure to select I will send during Step 3

  • Please contact your Wrapbook Customer Success Manager or the Support team if your company wants to use net terms to fund payroll

What does "Funded" mean?

When a payroll reaches Funded status in Wrapbook, it means Wrapbook has confirmed receipt of the payroll funds and has initiated payments to workers. "Funded" does not mean workers have already received their deposits — it means the disbursements are in progress.

The time between a payroll reaching Funded status and workers seeing the money in their bank accounts depends on factors specific to your production: your funding method, your payment history with Wrapbook, your workers' banks, and whether your payroll includes union talent that requires a paymaster review step. Because these vary by production, there is no single universal delivery window.

For questions about your production's expected payment timeline, contact your Wrapbook CSM or reach out to Wrapbook Support.

Submission deadlines

The deadline to approve and fund payroll in order to hit a target pay date depends on your production's funding method — for example, whether your account is set up for Net Terms, Drawdown, Expedited ACH, or Manual funding. These deadlines are not the same across all productions.

To find out the specific deadline that applies to your production, contact your Wrapbook CSM or check your payroll settings in Wrapbook.

SAG-AFTRA and union payroll

Union payrolls, including SAG-AFTRA, go through an additional paymaster review step before funding can be initiated. This adds time to the standard payroll timeline. To ensure your workers are paid on schedule, work with your Wrapbook CSM to establish the right submission cadence for your production's union payroll.

Why does my bank show "TakeOne Network" instead of "Wrapbook"?

Wrapbook's legal entity name is TakeOne Network Corp. ACH transactions originating from Wrapbook will appear on workers' bank statements as TakeOne Network — not "Wrapbook." This is expected.

If a worker reports a missing deposit, ask them to search for TakeOne Network in their bank transaction history before assuming the payment was not sent.

Before running your first payroll, it can be helpful to notify your bank that you will be initiating ACH transactions through TakeOne Network Corp via JP Morgan Chase Bank. This can prevent unnecessary holds on payroll transactions.

If your bank has already flagged or blocked a transaction, contact Wrapbook Support for assistance.
