Overview
Wrapbook supports three ways to pay vendors by Automated Clearing House (ACH): Direct ACH vendor payments, NACHA file payments, and Direct to Bank payments.
Both methods use ACH, but they differ in where payment processing happens and how much work your team completes after approving a payment batch.
Direct ACH vendor payments: You approve payments through Wrapbook's embedded approval workflows. Wrapbook partners with Stripe Payments Company for money transmission services and account services.
NACHA file payments: Wrapbook generates a NACHA file. You download the file, upload it to your bank's payment portal, and complete the bank's processing steps.
Direct to Bank: Wrapbook transmits the payment file to your bank for approval and release, so you do not manually download and upload the file.
Use this article to compare the three payment methods. For step-by-step instructions, see the following articles:
Compare the payment methods
Payment delivery
Direct ACH funds are delivered two banking days after approval. Current cutoff details are available in Process a Direct ACH vendor payment (PAS).
NACHA file payments are submitted through your bank. Delivery timing depends on your bank's processing schedule and cutoff times.
Direct to Bank payments are transmitted to your bank for approval and release. Delivery timing depends on your bank's processing schedule and cutoff times.
Cost
Direct ACH vendor payments are free in Wrapbook.
Your bank may charge fees for NACHA file origination or file uploads. Contact your bank to confirm any applicable fees.
Setup requirements
To use Direct ACH vendor payments, your company must use the Production Accounting Suite (PAS), have the feature enabled, and complete the required setup, including:
One-time Know Your Customer (KYC) verification
A company bank account enabled for vendor payments
A project bank account
Vendor banking information
To use NACHA file payments, your company needs:
The Production Accounting Suite (PAS) turned on for your company
NACHA file configuration through your Customer Success Manager
A bank that accepts NACHA file uploads
Vendor banking information
Prenotes to activate the NACHA file configuration
Direct to Bank requires coordination among your company, Wrapbook, and your bank. Setup may take several weeks, so contact your Wrapbook Customer Success Manager early to confirm eligibility, requirements, and timing.

Payment records and vendor notifications
Direct ACH payment activity is recorded in Wrapbook as part of the payment flow. Vendors receive a remittance notification that the payment is en route.
NACHA file payments require you to return to Wrapbook and mark the payment batch as paid after you complete the bank submission. Automatic vendor remittance notifications may be available for some NACHA file configurations behind a separate feature flag. Confirm availability with your Wrapbook Customer Success Manager.
Which method should you use?
Direct ACH vendor payments may be a good fit for teams that want to manage approvals, release funds, and keep payment records together in Wrapbook. Direct ACH includes embedded approval workflows, so choosing Direct ACH does not mean giving up approval control.
NACHA file payments may be a good fit for teams whose internal policy requires final payment release from a specific bank portal and who can manage the manual file workflow.
Direct to Bank may be a good fit for teams whose internal policy or approval process requires final release in a bank portal but who want Wrapbook to transmit the payment file instead of downloading and uploading it manually. This option may also fit organizations whose required approvers do not use Wrapbook. Setup requires coordination with Wrapbook and the bank and may take several weeks.
Your available payment methods depend on your company's configuration, permissions, and bank requirements. If you're unsure which method applies to your company, contact your Wrapbook Customer Success Manager or the Support Team.
