Default settings

Prev Next

On the Configure your default settings page, you can assign the preferred project settings for time rounding, travel details, and departments.

Notes:

  • If your project involves unions, film, or television, the Wrapbook Contracts Team and your Customer Success Manager will configure some project settings to ensure that worker payments are accurate and benefits, including pension and health contributions, are properly handled

  • If a project setting is locked and you need help updating it, please contact your Wrapbook Customer Success Manager or the Support Team for assistance

Access Default settings

Default settings are permission based

To update, your account must have one of the following roles enabled:

  • Role: Company Admin, Company Manager, Project Coordinator

  • Custom role with: Project management - Full access, Manage

To access a project’s Default settings:

  1. In the left-side navigation, click the dropdown menu

  2. In the dropdown menu, select the name of the project that you want to see the settings for

  3. In the left-side navigation, click Project settings

  4. Under PROJECT SETTINGS, click Default settings

If you make any changes to project Default settings, be sure to click the Save changes button before leaving the page.

Default settings options

The following project defaults can be set:

Time rounding for non-union timecards

  • Click the dropdown menu to select how time on non-union timecards should be rounded when calculating payroll: Closest 15 minutes, Closest 6 minutes, or Closest 1 minute

Set a default invite message

With Wrapbook, you can save a default invite message at the project level. When this setting is turned on and a message is saved, the message automatically appears in the invitation compose field every time you invite a worker to that project — so you don't have to write or paste the same onboarding note every time.

  • You can still edit or personalize the message on a per-invite basis before sending. The default is a starting point, not a lock.

  • By default this setting is toggled off on projects. In order to use this feature you'll need to toggle on the default invite message in the project's settings.

  • When a default message has been set for a project, turning the toggle off preserves the saved message but stops adding it to project worker invitations

How to set a default invite message

  1. In the left-side navigation, click the dropdown menu and select the project

  2. In the left-side navigation, click Project settings

  3. In the PROJECT SETTINGS submenu, click Default settings

  4. In the Configure your default settings view, scroll down until you see Default invite message and then click to toggle on Use default invite message

  5. In the text field below the toggle, enter the message you want to appear by default on worker invitations for this project

  6. Click the Save changes button at the bottom of the page

The next time you invite a worker to this project, the message will be pre-filled in the invitation form. You can update or toggle off the message from the same settings page at any time.

Tips for writing a default invite message

  • Include key onboarding information your workers need before they start (for example: first day logistics, who to contact with questions)

  • Keep in mind that workers will see this message before they've completed onboarding

  • When a default message is enabled for a project, you can still override the default message directly in the invitation to personalize the message

Travel details

When enabled, the Travel details setting allows workers on this project to submit travel-related day types on their timecards. Use this setting for any project where workers will travel outside the studio zone — including out-of-town shoots, overnight stays at distant locations, or dedicated travel days.

When Travel details is turned on for a worker, the following day type options become available on their timecard:

  • Nearby location Worker is working outside the studio zone (typically beyond the 30-mile zone) but not staying overnight

  • Overnight working — Worker is working at a distant location with an overnight stay

  • Overnight (idle) — Worker is at a distant location on a non-working day (e.g., a hold day away from home)

  • Travel — A dedicated travel day to or from a distant location

Wrapbook uses these day types to automatically calculate the correct pay, travel time, zone premiums, and per diem allowances based on the worker's agreement.

Click the Travel details toggle to enable these options for all new workers added to this project.

You can also enable or disable travel details for individual workers when inviting them to a project or updating their project worker profile.

Require department assignment

  • Click the toggle if you want to require workers to be assigned to a specific production department

  • When you assign workers to departments, you’ll be able to use the Department filter on the project’s People dashboard to display their information quickly

Automatically reissue startwork for change forms

  • If disabled, you can choose whether to reissue startwork when submitting a change form

Include start/close forms with startwork

  • Choose whether to automatically include start/close forms in startwork for loan-out companies and individual workers

If you make any changes to the the information in the project’s Default settings, click the Save changes button.
