Multi-factor authentication (MFA)

Overview

Multi-factor authentication (MFA) adds a second layer of security to your Wrapbook account beyond your password. When you log in, Wrapbook may ask you to verify your identity using a code sent to your phone, a biometric scan, or a security key. This helps protect your account even if your password is ever compromised.

Authentication methods

Wrapbook supports three MFA methods:

  • SMS or voice call (recommended)

  • Authenticator app (such as Google Authenticator)

  • Security key (biometrics, such as Face ID or fingerprint)

SMS is the easiest way to set up MFA. When you log in, Wrapbook will text or call you with a six-digit code to confirm your identity.

  1. When prompted during login or account setup, select SMS/Voice Call

  2. Enter your US or Canadian phone number

  3. Enter the six-digit code you receive to complete setup

Note: Wrapbook currently supports US and Canada phone numbers only.

Set up an authenticator app

An authenticator app generates a time-based, one-time code on your mobile device. Google Authenticator is a commonly used option.

  1. Install the Google Authenticator app on your mobile device

  2. Open the app and tap + in the lower-right corner

  3. Scan the QR code displayed on your Wrapbook screen

  4. Enter the one-time code generated by the app to complete enrollment

Note: Authenticator app codes are time-based and expire every 30 seconds. If a code isn't working, make sure your phone's date and time are set to automatic.

Set up a security key (biometrics)

If your device supports Face ID or fingerprint authentication, you can use it as your primary MFA method.

Note: You must set up SMS/Voice or an authenticator app as a backup before activating the security key option.

Skip MFA on trusted devices

To avoid verifying your identity every time you sign in on the same device, check Remember this device for 30 days during the MFA step.

Only use this option on personal devices you don't share with others.

Confirm or update your MFA enrollment

  1. In the top-right corner, click your user menu

  2. Select Account details

  3. Under Privacy & security, go to Multi-factor authentication

  4. Click the Enable button to choose or update your MFA method

Troubleshoot MFA issues

To help you understand your Wrapbook account, we’ve put together this list of issues you may encounter questions.

Click the arrow next to an issue to see guidance.

I'm not receiving my SMS verification code

  • Wait at least 30 to 60 seconds before requesting another code. Requesting codes too quickly can delay or block delivery.

  • Confirm that your phone number on file is correct and is a US or Canadian number

  • If you're still not receiving codes, contact Wrapbook Support to verify your number or switch your MFA method

My authenticator app codes aren't working

Time-based codes can fail if your device clock is out of sync with the server. Go to your phone's date and time settings and enable automatic time sync. Then generate a new code and try again.

If codes continue to fail, contact Wrapbook Support to reset your MFA enrollment.

I got a new phone and can't access my authenticator app

If you've lost access to your authenticator app due to a new phone, deleted app, or factory reset, contact Wrapbook Support. A member of the Support Team will verify your identity and reset your MFA enrollment so you can set up a new method.

I'm being asked to set up a passkey. What is that?

A passkey is an optional, password-less login method that uses your device's biometrics (Face ID, fingerprint) instead of a password. If you see a prompt to set one up, you can dismiss it and continue using your current MFA method. If you'd like to enroll, follow the on-screen steps and your device will guide you through it.

What happens if I lose access to my MFA method entirely?

Contact Wrapbook Support. A member of the Support Team will verify your identity and reset your MFA so you can set up a new method.

Can I change my MFA method after I've enrolled?

Yes.

  1. In the top-right corner, click your user menu

  2. Select Account details

  3. Under Privacy & security, go to Multi-factor authentication

  4. Click the Enable button to choose or update your MFA method

Why does Wrapbook ask me to re-verify on a device I've used before?

The Remember this device setting lasts 30 days. After that, you'll be prompted to verify again. Clearing your browser cookies or using a private window can also reset this.

I use the same Wrapbook account across multiple projects. Do I need to set up MFA separately for each one?

No. MFA is tied to your Wrapbook account, not to individual projects. Once enrolled, the same method applies everywhere.

My SMS code isn't arriving. What should I do?

Wait 60 seconds before requesting a new code. Multiple requests in quick succession can cause delivery issues. If the problem continues, contact Wrapbook Support to verify your number or switch to an authenticator app.
