Adding Employment type to a worker's invitation

Prev Next

Overview

When inviting a worker to a project, you’ll need to add specific information about:

  • Employee type

  • Hire location

  • Agent information

  • Guild

  • Job title

  • Alternate job title (optional)

  • Department

Employment type

  • Under Employment type, click to choose either Employee (W-2) or Loan Out (Company)

  • In Wrapbook, it’s critical to correctly assign employee types when inviting workers to a project because they affect how taxes will be calculated and reported

  • When selecting the Employee (W-2) option, an Employee type dropdown menu will appear where you can select one of the following options:

    • Variable hours hours vary by week

    • Full time >30 hours a week

    • Part time <30 hours a week

  • When inviting a loan-out worker working in California, you can optionally enter their CA Employer Account Number. If you don’t have their CA Employer Account Number, or the loan-out won’t be working in  California, you can skip this field. Learn more about this option and related requirements on the California EDD website.

  • To learn more about employee types, see Worker classification

Hire location

  • Under Hire location, click the state and city dropdown menus to select where they were hired

  • This is the studio zone where the worker is hired, not necessarily where they actually work

  • The hire location determines which union local a worker can be part of and how their pay is calculated

  • This is only required for union projects
