Projects FAQ
To help you manage production projects with Wrapbook, we’ve put together this list of frequently-asked questions.
Click the arrow next to a question to see the answer.
What are California Meal Settings?
California Meal Settings help you comply with compensation requirements for work done in the State of California as follows:
Lunch breaks of at least a half hour must be given in the first six hours of the work day, or workers will have one hour of base-rate pay added to their timecard
If workers don't receive a second lunch break six hours following the first, they will be given a second hour of base-rate pay added to their timecard (for still photography, this should be a meal break every five hours)
Currently, Wrapbook's calculator for California Meal Settings will calculate for motion pictures but not stills. If your production involves stills, you’ll need to address this manually.
To see if a project has California Meal Settings enabled, select the name of the project from the drop-down menu in the left-side navigation, then click Project settings
Where can I view the status of my project’s workers’ compensation insurance application?
You can find the status of your project’s workers’ compensation insurance in the Project settings. To find Project settings, select the name of the project that you want to check from the drop-down menu in the left-side navigation, then click Project settings, and then click Workers’s compensation in the Project settings list.
On the Apply for workers’ compensation page, there will be a notification indicating if your application has been approved.
Once an application is approved, we’ll email a copy of the project’s Certificate of Insurance (COI) to the email address listed in your application and a copy will also be added to the project’s Documents.
How do I submit a workers’ compensation claim?
See our Workers’ Comp setup guide to see detailed instructions for filing a claim.
How are deductible meals calculated?
Time spent in a meal break, will be deducted from total hours worked.
For example:
If a worker works 12 hours with a one-hour lunch, it will be reported as 11 hours worked
If a worker has a guaranteed number of hours, and the hours worked after the meal deduction are fewer than that guarantee, then their hours worked will be reported as less than the guarantee, but they will still be paid their full rate according to the guaranteed hours.
For example:
If a worker has a guarantee of a 10-hour day and they are on set for 10.5 hours with a one-hour lunch, 9.5 hours will be reported, but the worker will still be paid for their 10-hour guarantee
What does paid meals mean?
Paid meals allow workers to log their lunch break to meet state standards, while being paid for the entire time they are on set, including the break.
I’m logged into my account, but I can’t find a project. Where is it?
There’s two possible reasons why you may not be able to find a project while logged into your Wrapbook account:
You have more than one Wrapbook account and you’re logged into the wrong account. See how to merge your accounts.
You haven’t accepted your most recent invitation to join the project. This can happen if a production company removes you from a project that you’ve already joined, and then re-adds you to it. In this case, you’ll need to find the most recent invitation, and use the link within that email to re-join the project.
