About the Audit Log
The Audit Log gives you a detailed history of timecard and expense actions for a project.
Ways to use this log
Audit Logs are useful for:
Accountability and oversight - See who made changes, when, and to what—especially helpful in high-volume production environments
Approval tracking - Confirm that timecards, payment requests, and invoices were submitted and approved on time
Troubleshooting errors - Trace back any unexpected changes or discrepancies in project data or workflows
Security monitoring - Review login activity and permission changes for sensitive roles.
Internal audits and compliance - Provide a clear audit trail to support internal reviews or external audits
Dispute resolution - Reference exact actions taken in the event of a payroll or approval dispute
What’s included in the log
The Audit Log includes a complete timeline of system activity with the following details:
Timestamp (date and time of the action)
User Name (who performed the action)
User Role (for example., Admin, Manager)
Action Type (for example., Created, Updated, Approved, Deleted)
Object Type (for example, Timecard, Invoice, Payment Request)
Object Name or ID
Change Summary (what was changed, if applicable)
Project Name (if action was project-specific)
How to generate the Audit Log
To generate the Audit Log for a project:
In the left-side navigation, click the dropdown menu
In the dropdown menu, select the project that you want to see the Audit Log for
In the left-side navigation, click Timecards & expenses
On the Timecards & Expenses dashboard, click the Export button, and then select Audit log
After you select Audit log, the log will be automatically downloaded to your computer as a CSV file. To locate the file, navigate to where your computer saves new downloads.

Filter by user name if you’re reviewing a specific team member’s actions
Use this report during wrap to ensure all approvals and entries were completed properly
Download logs monthly or per project to stay ahead of any compliance gaps or discrepancies
