# How to join a project

## Overview

When a production company wants you to join their project in Wrapbook, they’ll send you an invitation by email.

New project invites will have the email subject line, "Welcome, [Your Name]! - [Project Name]" and will be sent from @wrapbook.com.

## Invitation emails

When you receive a project invitation from Wrapbook, use the following steps:

1. Open the invitation email
2. Click the **Join Project** button
3. On the next screen, click **Accept Invitation**

💡 **Tip:** Already have a Wrapbook account? You can also accept your invitation directly from inside Wrapbook — no email link needed. See *Accepting an invitation in-app* below.

## Deal summary

Your invitation email will outline your deal terms, including:

- Your rate
- Position
- Start date
- End date
- Project location
- [Worker classification](/v1/docs/understanding-your-worker-classification)

Once you join the project, you’ll be able to see your deal terms on:

- The [project dashboard](/v1/docs/project-dashboards-worker)
- Your [project timecards](/v1/docs/about-timecards-workers)

## Accepting a project invitation for the first time

If you're new to Wrapbook, you'll be prompted to create your worker profile.

1. Enter your email address (be sure to use the same one where you received the invitation)
2. Provide your legal first and last name
3. Create a secure password
4. Enter your Social Security Number (SSN)
5. Verify your email address by clicking the confirmation link sent to your inbox

To learn more, see [Account details](/v1/docs/user-menu-worker#account-details).

## Accepting a project invitation when you have an existing Wrapbook account

When you have a pre-existing Wrapbook account associated with the email address that your invitation was sent to:

- You'll be prompted to sign in to Wrapbook
- The information that’s in your worker profile will be automatically applied during onboarding

## Accepting an invitation in-app

If you already have a Wrapbook account, you can accept your project invitation from inside Wrapbook in two ways — no email link needed.

### Option 1: Accept via your projects page

1. Go to your [All Projects dashboard](/v1/docs/all-projects-dashboard-worker#access-your-all-projects-dashboard) in Wrapbook
2. Find the project with a *New* alert. This alert appears as soon as the production company sends the invite and stays until you accept
3. Click **Accept invite** to review your deal details and accept
4. Follow any prompts to complete your acceptance

Once accepted, the *New* alert changes to *Onboarding* and the button updates to *Complete onboarding* until you finish your required startwork.

### Option 2: Accept via your inbox

When you have one or more pending project invitations, an inbox icon with the number of messages appears in the top-right corner in your Wrapbook account.

On any screen while logged into your Wrapbook account:

1. Look for the *inbox icon with a number* in the top-right corner of any page — the number shows how many pending invitations you have
2. Click the **icon** to open your inbox
3. In the inbox, you'll see project and deal details including your rate, position, and offer terms
4. Click **Accept invite**. You'll be taken to the onboarding flow to complete your startwork

**Note:** If the project doesn't appear in your inbox or on your projects page, check your email for the original invitation. If you can't find it, contact the production company to confirm the invite was sent to the right email address.

## Complete required startwork

Once your worker profile is set up you’ll be prompted to complete your startwork and other required onboarding tasks.

To learn more, see [How to complete your startwork](/v1/docs/how-to-complete-your-startwork).

## Terms of Service

Read through and agree to Wrapbook’s [Terms of Service](https://www.wrapbook.com/legal/terms-of-service).

## Review your information

To prevent issues with your onboarding and payments, be sure to double-check the following before leaving the page:

- Your [worker classification](/v1/docs/understanding-your-worker-classification)
- Your SSN or EIN
- Your legal name
