# How to complete your startwork

*Startwork* refers to the documents you need to complete when joining a production.

## Types of startwork

Startwork includes the following types of worker documentation:

- Government-mandated forms (like {{glossary.W-4}}, {{glossary.I-9}})
- Company-specific documents (NDAs, Deal Memos)
- Wrapbook authorization forms
- State-specific tax forms

## Complete your startwork

After accepting a project invitation, you'll be guided through the startwork process. Here are important tips to ensure smooth completion:

- Complete all required fields - incomplete forms may delay your payment
- Some documents are legally required and must be completed before you can submit timecards
- Use your legal name when filling out all documents.
  - If the name that appears on your startwork documents is incorrect, you’ll need to [update your worker profile](/v1/docs/how-to-update-your-account-settings-worker).
  - Note that you can only update your worker profile if no payments have been issued to you via Wrapbook.
  - If you’re unable to make changes, reach out to your production administrators to let them know that you’ve corrected your name in your worker profile, and that they’ll need to regenerate the startwork documents where the incorrect name was previously used. If you’re unable to make changes to your worker profile, please contact the Support team.
- Double-check your Social Security Number for accuracy
- If you work in multiple states, you may need to complete additional state-specific forms
- Read each document carefully before signing

## Uncompleted startwork

- You don’t have to complete all your startwork in one session, but you do need to complete it before you can get paid
- If you have uncompleted startwork, there will be an alert on the project in the All projects dashboard
- To pick up where you left off, click the **Complete Onboarding** button
