# How to add training document upload requirements for worker onboarding

## Overview

Production companies can add training requirements to worker onboarding — such as requiring workers to upload a harassment prevention training certificate before they can complete startwork. This article explains how to set up, assign, and manage training requirements that ask workers to upload proof of completion as part of their onboarding.

Wrapbook's document upload requirements let you:

- Require workers to upload a document (for example, a harassment prevention training certificate) before completing onboarding
- Link workers directly to a third-party training site within the onboarding flow
- Review uploaded documents, approve them, or request corrections
- Bulk download all uploaded documents from the project [Files & exports](/v1/docs/about-documents-admin) dashboard

**Note:** If you don't see this option in Wrapbook, contact your Customer Success Manager or the [Wrapbook Support Team](https://help.wrapbook.com/docs/how-to-get-help-using-wrapbook) for assistance - they may need to enable this feature for your company's account.

## How to set up a training document upload requirement for worker onboarding

To set up a training document upload requirement, go to your company’s [*Startwork* dashboard](/v1/docs/onboarding-startwork-dashboard#company-startwork):

1. In the left-side navigation, click the dropdown menu and select **All projects**
2. In the left-side navigation, click **Startwork**
3. On the *Startwork* dashboard, click the **Document upload requests** tab
4. In the *Document upload requests* view, click the **Create document upload request** button
5. In the *Create document request* drawer:
  - Enter a name for the document upload request
  - Assign the request to an organization ([if applicable](/v1/docs/about-company-structure-and-organizational-hierarchy))
  - Add the URL (weblink) to where the worker needs to go to complete the training
  - Enter instructions for the worker to see
  - Enable approver review: *Required* or *Not required*
6. At the bottom of the drawer, click the **Save** button

After you click the *Save* button, the document upload requirement is saved and will appear on the [worker invite form](https://help.wrapbook.com/docs/how-to-invite-workers-to-a-project) based on your settings.

## How to add a training document upload requirement to a project by default

To add a training document upload requirement for all workers invited to a project:

2. In the left-side navigation, click **Startwork**
3. On the *Project startwork* dashboard, click the **Document upload requests** tab

## Tracking document upload completion on the project’s People dashboard

After you've set up document upload requirements for a project, you can use filters on the project’s [People](/v1/docs/people-dashboard#project-people) dashboard to quickly see which workers still have outstanding uploads — or which workers have submitted documents that need your review.

### Document upload filters

Two filter options are available on the project’s *People* dashboard:

*Startwork or document uploads incomplete*

- Shows workers who have been assigned document upload requirements but haven't yet submitted all of them

*Startwork or document uploads ready for review*

- *S*hows workers who have submitted their documents and are waiting for a company-side review (if a [starwork approval workflow](/v1/docs/approval-workflows) is enabled)

To use these filters:

1. Go to the [project’s People dashboard](/v1/docs/people-dashboard#project-people)
2. Click the filter button and select the filter

### Banner alert

If you have workers with document uploads ready for your review, a banner will appear at the top of the project’s *People* dashboard that says:

*You have [X] people with startwork or document uploads ready for review. View people.*

Click **View people** in the banner to instantly apply the document upload filters and see all workers with pending review items.

## Review a worker's uploaded training document

When a worker uploads a training document, you'll see it flagged on the [project's People dashboard](https://help.wrapbook.com/docs/people-dashboard#project-people) and on your [Approvals dashboard](https://help.wrapbook.com/docs/approval-workflows#how-to-approve-pos-timecards-and-startwork-in-wrapbook)

To review a document:

1. On your **Approvals** dashboard, click the [Startwork tab](https://help.wrapbook.com/docs/approval-workflows#how-to-approve-pos-timecards-and-startwork-in-wrapbook)
2. Click to open the file the worker has uploaded
3. Choose one of the following actions:
  - *Approve* — marks the requirement as complete for this worker
  - *Request correction* — enter a message explaining what needs to change; the worker will be notified and can re-upload

## How to update a training document upload requirement

Document upload requirement details like the *Name*, *Organization*, *URL*, and *Instructions for worker* cannot be changed at the project level. To update the details of a document upload requirement, go to your company’s [Startwork](/v1/docs/onboarding-startwork-dashboard#company-startwork) dashboard.

1. In the left-side navigation, click the dropdown menu and select All projects
2. In the left-side navigation, click **Startwork**
3. On the *Startwork* dashboard, click the **Document upload requests** tab
4. In the *Document upload requests* view, click **the** **three dots** next to the requirement and then select Edit
5. In the *Edit document request* drawer click to update the details
6. When you’re done making changes to the requirement, click the **Save** button

After you click the *Save* button, the new document upload requirement details are saved and will appear on future [worker invite forms](https://help.wrapbook.com/docs/how-to-invite-workers-to-a-project). It will not affect project worker invites that have already been sent.

## Bulk download training certificates

To download all uploaded training documents for a project:

1. In the left-side navigation, click the dropdown menu to select the project
2. In the left-side navigation, click **Files & exports**
3. On the project’s *Files & exports* dashboard click the **Tax & startwork** tab
4. Find the document upload request in the list and then click the **Download all** button
