# Export paystubs

## Overview

You can bulk export paystubs for a funded payroll run to a ZIP file, enabling efficient record-keeping and prompt responses to worker inquiries. The ZIP file includes PDF versions of individual paystub documents for all wages (W-2 and 1099) and expenses.

## Ways to use the export

Bulk paystubs exports are helpful for:

**Efficiency** - Quickly access and compile paystub information without the need to retrieve each individually.

**Record keeping** - Maintain organized records for compliance and auditing purposes.

**Worker assistance** - Promptly address worker inquiries by providing detailed payment histories.

**Financial analysis** - Analyze payroll expenditures across different projects and time periods

## What’s included in the export

The export will be downloaded to your computer as a ZIP file that includes a PDF paystub for each payee.

To see examples of a worker’s paystub, check out the Wrapbook help article for workers, [How to see your paystubs and payment details](/v1/docs/how-to-see-your-paystubs-and-payment-details).

## How to bulk export paystubs

To bulk export paystubs for a funded payroll run:

1. In the left-side navigation, click the dropdown menu
2. In the dropdown menu, select **All projects**
3. In the left-side navigation, click **Reports**
4. On the *Reports* dashboard under *Past Payroll*, click the **View Report** button
5. On the *Past Payroll* page, use the search bar and filters to find the payroll run that you want to access, then click its **View payroll** button
6. On the *Payroll* page, scroll to the bottom of the screen, click the **Export all to PDF** button, and then select **Paystubs**

After you select **Paystubs**, a *Preparing your download* alert will appear on the *Payroll* page letting you know that *You will receive an email with a link when ready*. When you receive the email from Wrapbook, click the **Go to download** link, and the ZIP file will be automatically downloaded to your computer. To find the report, navigate to where your computer saves new downloads.

## How to export paystubs from within a project

You can also bulk export paystubs directly from a project using the **Files & Exports** page. This is useful when you're already working inside a production and want to download paystubs without navigating to the Reports section.

### To export paystubs from a project:

1. [Open the project in Wrapbook](/v1/docs/project-dashboards)
2. In the left-side navigation, click **Files & Exports**
3. Click the **Payroll** tab
4. Click the checkbox to select the Paystubs
5. Click the Actions button at the bottom of the page and then select either:
  - *Download all*
  - *Customize download*

### Customizing the paystubs report

If you click the *Customize download* option from the Actions menu, a popup will open where you can configure the following:

- Click the checkboxes to select the workers
- You can use the search field to find specific workers
- When you’re ready, click the **Export files** button

The paystubs will download as a ZIP file containing individual PDFs organized by worker.

## Pro tips

- Bulk export paystubs after each payroll run to ensure you always have a backup copy on file, can catch discrepancies early, and are prepared for any worker questions
- If a worker can’t find or access their paystub, use the export to verify payment was issued

A ZIP file compresses multiple files and folders together into a single file, making it easier to store and share. When you "unzip" it, you get access to all the original files and folders inside.

An IRS form by which specific income (such as non-employee compensation, royalties, etc.) is reported to the federal government. Equivalent to a W-2 for independent contractors where remuneration is not being paid by the employer.
