Overview
In Wrapbook, you can configure your company's organizational structure using organizational units (OUs). This maintains clear boundaries between different OUs while enabling flexibility in managing permissions across the entire company.
OUs represent divisions or business units within a company, and they are used to control:
User management
Roles and permissions
Project ownership
Data access
Organizations and organizational hierarchy are available by request. To enable this feature for your company, contact your Customer Success Manager.
Organizational units (OUs) versus Production entities (PEs)
Organizational units (OUs) control access and visibility — who sees what. Production entities (PEs) handle the legal and financial side of your company structure — who legally pays whom. A single company can have multiple OUs and PEs, and projects can be associated with both.
For a full explanation of how OUs and PEs differ and when to use each, see About company structure and organizational hierarchy
OU permissions
When OUs are created, users in one OU cannot view worker, project, or payroll data from another OU. Financial information and project visibility can be restricted based on a user's position in the org structure.
For more detail on how OU permissions work and common setup scenarios, see About company structure & organizational hierarchy.
Configure an organizational hierarchy
When an organizational hierarchy is set up, OUs are arranged in a parent-child structure:
The organization that you're adding is called the child OU
The existing OU that you added the organization to is the parent OU
